The view of Lake Toya from our room was simply breathtaking! 👍 The staff were very accommodating, even organizing breakfast for our early bus rides. On the downside, the room felt a bit cramped with everything set up. 😕

The location is really convenient, super close to the bus terminal. The staff are helpful and made check-in easy at 2 PM. The meals were delicious and the onsen had a nice variety of baths. Plus, my Japanese-style room had beautiful traditional decor and a comfy bed. 😊

the hotel grand toya is really not worth it, dated facilities everywhere. the sauna in the men’s onsen was broken, and no coffee service in the room was a major oversight. i was expecting at least an upgrade for my trouble, but instead, was treated like everyone else. almost gave a good review, but just couldn’t, sadly.

Recommend it for families visiting
The staff were really helpful and friendly. The onsen had a huge variety of free creams to try out, it wasn’t overly fancy but still a good experience. Plus, the fireworks every night were just the cherry on top!
It wasn’t inexpensive, but still acceptable for what we got.

The room was spacious, comfy, and had a stunning lake view. The tatami mats looked new and there were nice touches like an LCD TV and a mid-size fridge. Only downside was it felt a bit cramped with four people once the futons were laid out. Also, the pillows were those small beanbag types, which might not be for everyone. But, you get a great fireworks show from the big windows at night!

The staff were exceptionally warm, personally setting up our futons after a long bus ride (such a relief! ). The view of Lake Toya at night with fireworks made for memorable evenings.
The breakfast options could use some variety, especially for guests with picky eaters in the family.

We enjoyed our stay, especially the amazing view of the fireworks from our room. The onsen area had a nice variety of baths that the kids loved, and the spaciousness was perfect for our family's needs. We also participated in some canoeing nearby, which was fun for everyone.
My kids wished there had been more options for food that appealed to younger tastes.

This was just a proper fit for a short stay in Toyako with good value. The staff helped us with a map in English, making it easy to find nearby attractions. If you need a shower, remember that facilities are communal in the basement.
